Friends of Garston Park - getting there!

People living near the Park should start to see some more improvements soon.

We've raised some money to buy some more benches and are waiting for delivery so they can be installed.

We've raised some money to pay for a new noticeboard so there'll be one at both of the entrances and not just the one by Whithedge Road.

And we have a commitment to some cash to plant a wildflower meadow.

What's more the City Council is going to help us by getting the existing benches refurbed.

So, a lot to look forward to for our park.

Garston Park Litter Pick

Join us for a litter pick in our park this Saturday (17th July)

We are meeting at 10 30 at the Leisure Centre. Litter picks, bags etc will be available.

The Friends of Garston Park have committed to organise a litter pick every two months to help keep our park looking good.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is this Friday (16th July). We meet at Long Lane Church at 6 30.

Anyone interested in the park is welcome to come along - local residents, local businesses, people who visit the park, people who play organised sports on the park.

If you can't come this time, but want to be kept informed of future meetings, do let us know. You can post your details on this website (use the comments) or e mail paula.keaveney@liverpool.gov.uk and she will pass your details on.

You can also take part in our short survey. If you scroll down a bit on this site you'll find a post with a link to this. It won't take more than five minutes of your time and will help us in deciding what to focus on.

Fun Day

The Fun Day at Garston Park on Saturday (26th) went really well. The Friends of Garston Park had a stall and we managed to make many more people aware of our work (and raised some money to boot). The bird box and insect box making went down particularly well. We took some pictures of the event which we'll try to post. Meanwhile here is one of our stall.
